hey guys! hope u guys had loads of fun over the past five days. with the end of mass dance ytd, it also marks the end of orientation '09!!! :( although we didn't do exceptionally well for the first four days, WE GOT SECOND FOR SEA SPORTS CARNIVAL! yea !!! can see that u guys did tremendously well on fri! :D haha

Thanks to all OGLs of Reydar! YOU GUYS DID A TREMENDOUSLY GOOD JOB!!! kudos to u guys!!!

And of course to our dear OG head, QAMARUL!!! AKA REYDAR!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

And last but not least, our FRESHMAN!!! haha the freshman rock a lot! if not for u guys, Orientation wont be as fun!!!

the lanyards right, there's like $16 leftover,
cos that guy charged me 90cents each. :D

alright Reydarians it's just 3 days away. Let's get all hyped up about it yea!!! But before that, some final things to let you guys know.

1. walkin.

yep walk-in. (I will do a rough briefing here, though my explanatory skills aren't exceptional)

So firstly, qama will be listening to music on his radio-cum-shield. until he slips on a banana skin, and falls into a well. (currently we are missing the banana skin, and the well will be made of 3 chairs formed in such a way that qama can fall into). Den a group of bad guys would march in, and den start whacking a group of innocent music lovers (who would be listening to their MP3s). So the innocent music lovers would be left seriously injured, and den SUDDENLY qama manages to come out of the well, and he starts whacking the bad guys. He would use his antannae to kill the first bad guy, den there would be the sound effect "First Blood", den second person would die under his antannae den the sound effect "Double Kill" comes out. And third person too. Den Qama would use his sonic wave to kill off the remaining bad guys. Will show you guys how to form the sonic wave (which in fact u guys would just be doing a kallang wave). Yep. That's about it. So there are four main groups of people:

A. Qamarul a.k.a. Reydar.

B. Bad guys. (which are those who came down for the meeting the other day)

C. Innocent music lovers.

D. Sonicwave people.

Monday morning we'll be doing the first and final rehearsal for this walk in:D

Another cheer is from ODAC. something like 'reydar is cool and it looks like ~whoo!~. Qama pls teach the OG this cheer on monday yep. And there is also another cheer - it's a mass cheer that all 8 OGs would be doing tgt. It's like the video which goes "snape snape severus snape". So for this orientation, it goes like "Thor, Thor, Ivanhoe Thor (and at this point we shout) Reydar". Get it? I tink not. We'll clear it up with u guys on monday as well!

3. Station master meeting.

yep station master meeting. For dry game masters, pls meet at gym alley at 8-8.30 am for a briefing on monday morning. For wet game masters, pls meet at gym alley at 8.30-9am for briefing. These two briefings will be done by SCs. So do turn up.

4. Attire for all days of orientation.

*Note. Everyone must report to school in school uni on all days, plus tie on fri. The following are just for the orientation itself.

For OGLs,

Day 1 - Yellow opac tee.

Day 2 - Pe attire.

Day 3 - White opac tee.

Day 4 - House Tee.

Day 5 - Dark tee or any other tee.

For Freshman,

Day 1 - White opac tee.

Day 2 - Sec school pe.

Day 3 - Vj pe.

Day 4 - Sec school pe.

Day 5 - Any tee or dark tee, plus yellow opac tee in evening.

5. Miscellanous. (is this how u spell it :/)

All OGLs must report to LT3 by 7.15am every morning before Orientation Starts. Attendance is compulsory. Yep.

Please pay $5 or $7 to the rep of ur sub og who paid for the lanyard, namely:

Money Issues!

Hey people!

As told to some of you just now, each OGL has to pay 1 person from your Sub-OG who has already paid $20 for the lanyard and some corrugated board (I suppose) that we are buying. If i'm not wrong, the OG item is like some lanyard with a letter 'R' cut out. Anyway, pay to this (refer below) people of your Sub-OG $5/$7 (depending on the size of your Sub OG. If there's only 3 people, than pay $7) and then when orientation comes next week, collect $1 from each freshmen (most probably it would be on OGL collect form 4 freshmen). So overall, you only paid $1 for YOUR lanyard thing! :)

Sorry for the late editing, hope we are not too late but anyways, this is the edited story that we came up with, just some minute changes. Do read through and feel free to change anything! :)

HOW REYDAR CAME ABOUT

Deep in the heart of The Land of Victoria, in a small town where all music-lovers reside, lived the humble Sonic household. Reydar, the son of Sonic the Hedgehog, had inherited his father’s superb speed at age of 10. Just like the other townspeople, Reydar was never seen without the love of his life, his brown polka dotted stereo.

One day, when young Reydar was diligently training his speed, and exploring the full potential of his power to achieve excellence, he exceeded his speed limit, and slipped on a banana peel which sent him hurtling into a well , filled with nuclear waste that has been disused for half a century. To make matters worse, as he plunged into the deep abyss of nuclear goop, and what he thought to be the last thing he’d ever see, a torrent of mutated brown thorny bats flew towards him inevitably digging their thorns into his pure and innocent skin.

When he awoke, his stereo was neon, infused into his arm acting like a shield. Also, he realised the stereo had the ability to absorb any sort of energy and convert it to sound and generate sound waves so strong, it could blow up anything in its way. Furthermore, having been bitten by bats, he too had the ability to emit ultrasonic frequencies, causing his intended victims to bleed in the ears and suffer a torturous head-banging migraine.

Just at that moment, Reydar realised that he was slowly fading into oblivion, and so was the entire town. The charming melodies that used to fill the town slowly dissipated into thin air. Reydar knew that something or someone had been tampering with the space time continuum causing his beloved town to be annihilated from history. He was not WRONG.

With a flash of lightning, Reydar found himself sent back to A.D 2009 where Anake and his minions had traveled. The massive destruction and chaos, made no reason for it to exist in Reydar’s year. Determined to save his land and loved ones, Reydar trained hard to hone his new found skills, and to run faster than the speed of sound, back into time.

WITH A FLICK OF A SWITCH, THE MIGHTY DEFEANING 8 CAME ALIVE, BESTOWED UPON BY REYDAR, FULLY ARMED WITH ULTRASONIC POWERS AND SUPERSONIC SHIELDS; THEY ARE NOW READY TO DEFEAT THE EVIL MURDEROUS ANAKE.

Another suggestion is that we can actually fit the sub OG names into the storyline itself. So there's this sense of belonging coz everyone's part of REYDAR!
So maybe Reydar likes to eat raisins and maybe the nuclear waste thingy he fell into contained radon etc etc. haha

Hey people! So, basically, agenda for tomorrow's meeting is

1) Look thru the banner design - edit and finalize on the spot
2) Read thru the story and see if any amendments needs to be made
3) Confirm our Sub-OG names - selection of what your sub-OG would like
4) Come up with cheers, practice them, finalize cheers (which we all get mind-block at this part.. haha)

I would be printed one set of whatever has been written on this blog. If possible, can someone else print also so we'll have more copies to look at. Of course, bring the banner design, story etc. tomorrow :)

How Reydar came to be

Deep in the heart of The Land of Victoria, in a small town where all music-lovers reside, lived the humble Sonic household. Reydar, the son of Sonic the Hedgehog, had inherited his father’s superb speed at age of 10. Just like the other townspeople, Reydar was never seen without the love of his life, his brown polka dotted stereo.

One day, when young Reydar was diligently training his speed, and exploring the full potential of his power to achieve excellence, he exceeded his speed limit, and slipped on a banana peel which sent him hurtling into a well , filled with nuclear waste that has been disused for half a century. To make matters worse, as he plunged into the deep abyss of nuclear goop, and what he thought to be the last thing he’d ever see, a torrent of mutated brown thorny bats flew towards him inevitably digging their thorns into his pure and innocent skin.

When he awoke, his stereo was neon, infused into his arm acting like a shield. Also, he realised the stereo had the ability to absorb any sort of energy and convert it to sound and generate sound waves so strong, it could blow up anything in its way. Furthermore, having been bitten by bats, he too had the ability to emit ultrasonic frequencies, causing his intended victims to bleed in the ears and suffer a torturous head-banging migraine.

Just at that moment, Reydar realised that he was slowly fading into oblivion, and so was the entire town. The charming melodies that used to fill the town slowly dissipated into thin air. Reydar knew that something or someone had been tampering with the space time continuum causing his beloved town to be annihilated from history. He was not WRONG.

Anake and his minions had travelled to A.D 2009, wrecking havoc on the town, thus creating no reason for it to exist in Reydar’s year. Determined to save his land and loved ones, Reydar trained hard to hone his new found skills, and to run faster than the speed of light, back into time.

WITH A FLICK OF A SWITCH, THE MIGHTY DEFEANING 8 CAME ALIVE, BESTOWED UPON BY REYDAR, FULLY ARMED WITH ULTRASONIC POWERS AND SUPERSONIC SHIELDS; THEY ARE NOW READY TO DEFEAT THE EVIL MURDEROUS ANAKE.

Sorry this took so long!! Crystabel and I are deeply apologetic. Lol. Feel free to make any changes yeah! And yes, I am very spoilt for choice regarding the fonts. 4, 5, and 6 all look pretty good to me!

Meaning of Sonic

1. Of or relating to audible sound: a sonic wave

2. Having a speed approaching or being that of sound in air, about 1,220 kilometers (760 miles) per hour at sea level.

3. Slang. Extremely exciting and fast-paced: a sonic lifestyle.

We can arguably allow our character to be super fast like Sonic the hedgehog, his father. HEH.

Interesting point: Sonic the hedgehog has the ability to curl up into a ball, primarily to attack enemies. Do we want to include this?

Supersonic power is similar to sound manipulation.

Sound manipulation is the ability to mimic and distort noise, replicate frequencies, and create sonic blasts of devastating proportions.

Jesse and Echo Demille in heroes (oh yeah!) has this power. They focus sound waves into people’s ears which cause people to bleed from ears with severe pain. They also can generate highly destructive multi-frequency sound waves from vocal chords

Echo’s body can also absorb sound, for example, absorbing electrical energy and converting it on impact into a powerful sonic attack. Haha this can be a good excuse when some group suan us like whoever has electricity power, we tell them this INTERESTING fact wahaha.

2. Our story/character!!

so this guy is like from the future. and his father is Sonic The Hedgehog... (for those who dno how he looks like, its this guy)

ok so now, this is his father. so apparently Reydar has spikes. yea around his arms, hair. and also, we kinda followed the story of batman, and in our story, Reydar has the ability to run like the speed of soun (inherited it from Sonic) and so he was running around, until he accidentally tripped and fell into this well, which was full of bats. hence he got bitten by this bats and hence he has two tiny little wings at his back. and hence he also has this super power called sonicboom.

and now on to his armour/weapon. he has this radio shield with a nuclear sign.

yea so this sign will appear on his radio-shield. and for his weapon, it would be the antannae of his radio, like he broke it from his radio. yea yea

ehhhh ppl. i'm currently doing this work attachment thingy. for like 3 more weeks. and its like 10-7PM.

so yeah. i cant exactly take leave or anything. so week days are a no-go for me. unless you guys plan to meet up after 7? like online or something. weekends are fine.
